Delordinaire is currently in the design phase for the transformation of a 1970’s cultural centre in Courbevoie, a suburb adjoining Paris.

The original building is remarkable as it is part of a brief movement between modernism and contemporary architecture that attempts to break with the repetitive, monotonous buildings of that time. The interior spaces are diverse in form and designed without a specific «programme» (an attempt to break with a rigourous functional approach), integrating terraces and balconies.

Delordinaire’s design will transform the façade and the interior spatial organisation to clarify the building’s programs, improve its thermal and environmental performance and create a strong connection with the adjacent park.

The design aims to enhance the iconic architecture of the building, recognising it’s intrinsic historical and social value for Courbevoie.
